Wedding Activities

When you start planning your wedding, and writing down all the things you would like, try to focus a little longer and deeper on the reception itself. The reception is the biggest part of the entire wedding, and all adults just love weddings. However, what my topic is on, is primarily about the kids.

What about the kids? Well, like I mentioned before, adults enjoy weddings and the festivities that go along with it. But the children are easily bored, especially when the entertainment seems to revolve around adults. However, this doesn't have to be.

Let the children get involved, and get them involved. They need excitement too, and it's no fun sitting in a chair watching all the adults have all the fun. Try to think of the reception as a big party, a big family gathering with fun, laughter, games, and even surprises.

Something that's a big hit no matter where it is taken is Karaoke. Even if you have a live band at the reception, they are going to need to take breaks every once in a while. Rent a Karaoke machine or even higher a Karaoke group as a fill in. The kids love to play center stage, and will love this added feature as well as the adults.

Have song and dance that the children can get involved in, and yet still be entertaining to the adults as well. You can have a poll with ribbons tied to the top and play May Poll. Have a group of people, including kids, get up and do the entire Hokie Pokie. There is also the Chicken Dance song, and everyone can flap their arms and dance like chickens around the room. It really is quite entertaining. I've done it. Play the song, 'Daddy's Little Girl', and while the bride dances with her father, all the little girls can dance with their daddy's as well.

Hold game events in different corners of the room. Here are a few that come to mind, but I'm sure if you think about it long enough, you could probably come up with a few more. There's Ring Toss, and Toss Across, Mini Hoops with a little net that suctions on a wall and you toss the ball into it. You can play musical chairs for fun and laughter, or you can auction off fun and silly prizes, and there's always room for a fun stuffed Piata.

So dig out a note book and a pen, and see how many fun, exciting, and laughable activities you can come up with, that's entertaining for both young and old alike.
